LUMINISCENCE extends London residency to January 2027

Following a hugely successful opening run and exceptional audience demand, LUMINISCENCE has extended its London residency at Westminster Cathedral through to Saturday 30th January 2027.
The extension will take audiences through the festive season, with a special ‘LUMINISCENCE at Christmas’ edition running from 25th November 2026 until 2nd January 2027, before the regular LUMINISCENCE show returns for the final weeks of the extended run.
Throughout the Christmas edition, audiences will experience the immersive LUMINISCENCE show with a festive twist, culminating in a spectacular festive finale, featuring much-loved Christmas classics and a special new seasonal 360° video projection. Carol singers will welcome audiences into the cathedral with festive hymns, followed by an additional 10-minute Christmas finale featuring choral favourites including ‘O Holy Night’, ‘Come All Ye Faithful’, ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Carol of the Bells’.

On selected dates, audiences can experience an even more enhanced musical edition with 12 exclusive Christmas Orchestra Nights. On these nights, the 14-piece LUMINISCENCE Orchestra will join the Lux Aeterna Choir, creating a larger-scale live musical experience within the cathedral.
The Christmas Orchestra Nights will take place on 28 November; 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd December.
Already celebrated for its spectacular fusion of 360° projection mapping, spatial sound and live choral performance, LUMINISCENCE transforms the magnificent interior of Westminster Cathedral into an extraordinary canvas of light, music and storytelling. Narrated by Hugh Bonneville, the experience takes audiences on an emotional journey through the story of London.
At the heart of the experience is Westminster Cathedral itself. Using cutting-edge projection technology, LUMINISCENCE brings the cathedral’s extraordinary architecture to life, illuminating its soaring columns, intricate mosaics and vast domes in breathtaking detail.
With the ‘LUMINISCENCE at Christmas’ season running until 2nd January, and the full London run now extended through to Saturday 30th January 2027, audiences have even more opportunities to experience LUMINISCENCE at Westminster Cathedral - with the choice of the regular show, festive edition or one of the 12 special Christmas Orchestra Nights for the full orchestral and choral experience.
